Driving to a property to work out how much roofline it has is the most expensive free thing a lighting company does. MapMeasure traces the property from satellite imagery and totals the runs, so the estimate is built before anyone leaves the office — and the drive happens only for work you have already priced.
How it works

Trace the property
Pull up the address and draw along the peaks, gutters, and ridges you intend to light. Each segment is measured as you draw it.
- 02
Totals build themselves
Runs total to linear feet by type — peak, gutter, ridge, wrap — because a steep two-storey peak is not priced like a garage gutter.
- 03
Flow into the design
The measurement is attached to the property, so the design and the estimate both read from it rather than from a number someone re-typed.
- 04
Correct it in the field
Crews adjust the trace on site when the satellite was out of date. The estimate reconciles against what was actually installed.
What it does not do
Satellite imagery ages. Dense tree cover, a recent extension, or a north-facing dormer in shadow will need a field correction — the measurement is a fast, accurate first pass, not a substitute for eyes on a complicated property.
